"Canvas is a bank piece of life. Waiting for someone to throw color and ambition on it. It waits anxiously for itself to come to life. Now is the time. Let the journey begin."

On life.

You can tell school has started. My lack of writing is perfectly excusable by the fact that I am currently swimming in exams, books...you get the picture. School is definitely back in session. :)

I went to lunch with a good friend of mine that is currently studying abroad in Strasbourg, France. He imparted this small, simple piece of wisdom to me before he left, "do what you love." So simple. Yet, it sang to me.

I'll tell you honestly that if there is anyone who knows what life could be like, it would be me. I've known just about every kind of pain there is to know. There is disappointment, frustration, and indescribable fear that has been etched into my life portrait. But if you looked, even for hours, you probably wouldn't find very much left to see. It's been covered by beautiful blues, reds, and purples. Colors that scream freedom and passion and peace...colors that sing freedom.

I'll tell you what life isn't: It's not dwelling on the things, people and situations you can't change. It isn't about being right, being pretty or successful. It isn't about money, fame or great hair. It isn't about lies, doubts, screwups and mistakes. It isn't about hate, injustice, opppression or discrimination. It isn't about your likes and dislikes, your next love or your next breakup. It isn't about you and isn't about me.

I'll tell you what life is: Life is freedom. It's about chasing your passions and falling down, only to get back up and run faster. It's about love. It's about compassion and action. It's about intention. It's about seeking beauty in the ugly places. It's about finding hope in the dark parts of the world. It's about giving everything you have. It's about dancing without caring who is looking and praying without ceasing. It's about finding a Love that never leaves you. It's about showing it, sharing it, appreciating it, receiving it and keeping it. Life is...Love and God is Love.

There's too much bad stuff that we let in the way of the good. Throw it away and find your way to Love.
