Take what You need to, my life has never been my own.
Much of the beginning of this year has been filled with time to reflect and rest. Being a busy person has gotten me used to Starbuck's runs and rushing here and there, planner always in my purse, along with snacks and occasional earrings for a quick change. I like having a busy life, most days. Having some time off from school has been nice to get outside tasks done and to rest. But this week especially, as I'm getting ready for another semester, I feel God speaking the most to me. I constantly have been praying for His wisdom and well...all I can seem to be grabbing is swirling leaves and still pictures of the life around me. It's been a quiet few days. However, as I sat listening to some songs I usually find comfort in, it hit me...God speaks at diffrent volumes and in deifferent ways :) Let me just share with you what has been grabbing my heart. Maybe you'll find what you need in them as well.
"You sit at the table with the wounded and the poor. You laugh and share stories with the thief and the whore.."
"Arms open wide, death swallowed up by life, Yahweh...show me the Kingdom."
"Have Your way here, keep me afloat cause I'm not the same without You, take this ocean of pain that is mine...throw me a lifeline"
"Wake up feeling convicted, I know something's not right, reacquaint my knees with the carpet."
"I just needed you to know I'm coming undone, cause you'd do anything when you love someone..." (not really relevant to this growing and maturing, but this song has been STUCK in my head for days...wonder why? :) )
"I am willing to go where you want me to, God I trust in You...there's a raging sea, right in front of me, wants to pull me in, bring me to my knees. So let the waters rise, if you want them to, I will follow You"
"Sweep me away, by Your great love, cover my life in Your holy flood....deliver my life from this valley I pray, sweep me away."
"I won't find what I am looking for, if I only see by keeping score..."
In this season of growth and maturing, I can only find hope in the eyes of my Savior. And I know something very good is on it's way. Romans 8:28.
Many thanks to Bethany Dillon, Brooke Fraser, MIKESCHAIR, and Monk and Neagle for those words of wisdom! :)
