Hearts for Haiti

Many of you know about the tragic events taking place in Haiti right now. People searching day and night for their loved ones, crumbled building, broken homes...the mark of an unexpected earthquake is being plastered all over newspapers, television screens and billboards. Although I am hurt deeply for these people, I am seeing something beautiful. The world is shaken to it's core with compassion. Doctors and nurses are flying into Haiti, people are donating phones, money and utilities, people are on their knees for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. It's incredible. This is Jesus. This heartbreaking situation that is calling people to act. To love. To serve. It's absolutely beautiful. Haiti will rise from these ashes and rubble stronger and more beautiful than ever before!

There is A TON of ways to get involved right now. I've been purusing the web and have seen so many organizations and places that are doing small parts to aid overseas. Here a just a few of the many I've found.

Samaritans Purse

One of my favorite things about giving is that there is never a set way you have to do it! I love the freedom to give in any way we please, it tends to tug at my heart more knowing I've thought it through, giving my best effort for changing and saving lives. So get creative! Do a bake sale, a sidewalk book sale, paint murals/pictures and donate the money to Haiti, make t-shirts, pray, fast, hold a benefit concert, hold an auction, a fundraising party....the ways are endless! Remember that anything helps...but we must act, and we must do it now.

Romans 12:13 says, "When God's people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality."

Make a difference!
