We sings a song far greater than our own anthems
We all have anthems, songs that resonate deep within us and give us the ability to compare to our lives, our pasts and ultimately what we want our futures to be. Some are songs written by others and some are songs written by your own steady hand and heart. Anthems are beautiful to me, they tell your story, your heart song to the world. There's a song called "Safe" by Britt Nicole that really hits home to me for several reasons. But it isn't how comparable my past is to hers that draws me in, it's the dedication and determination to tear down walls and love relentlessly. Love my world, love people, love relationships, love God...more than I ever thought I could. Fear can be so incapacitating and often people think fear and love walk hand in hand. Our God knows how He meant love to be and showed it to us through Jesus. It's time we change the worldly image of love and get back to the love our world once experienced first hand. :) So, this is my anthem...for my past, my present and my future.
You keep trying to get inside my head
While I keep trying to lose the words you said
Can't you see I'm hanging by a thread
To my life, what I know
Yeah, I'm losing control and
Oh, no
My walls are gonna break
So close
It's more than I can take
I'm so tired of turning and running away
When love just isn't safe
You're not safe
I'm strong enough
I've always told myself
I never wanna need somebody else
But I've already fallen from that hill
So I'm dropping my guard,
Here's your chance at my heart and
Oh, no
My walls are gonna break
So close
It's more than I can take
I'm so tired of turning and running away
When love just isn't
Everything you want, but it's everything you need
It's not always happy endings
But it's all the in-between
It's taken so long, so long to finally see
That Your love is worth the risk
Oh, no
My walls are gonna break
Oh, no
My walls are gonna break
So close
It's more than I can take
I'm so tired of turning and running away
When love just isn't safe
You're not safe
And that's ok
If we are committed to losing our hearts in the kind of love that never fails (1 Corinthians 13) and willing to not only receive it but give it, our world would be radically different. Imagine what it would feel like to love without fear and to know that you are loved without inhibition, a love like Jesus offers every second of every day of every week of every year! Tell someone that today, tomorrow, this week....please. I will continue to say that our world needs to hear they are loved, cherished, accepted and cared for. If not, how do we expect things to get better at all? Something to think about:)
Love you guys!
